Team Overview

As Associate Director, Sales and Account Manager, based in Hong Kong, you will lead our regional growth across Asia (excluding Japan) by acquiring new clients and expanding relationships with existing partners. This dual-role combines the drive of a sales hunter with the strategic focus of an account lead, supporting our commercial success in the region.

This is a key opportunity for a commercially minded professional with deep regional insight, strong revenue generation experience, and the ability to navigate complex financial ecosystems.

Role Responsibilities

  • Drive new client acquisition across Asia (excluding Japan), proactively identifying and converting qualified leads into long-term clients.
  • Lead full-cycle sales processes from prospecting and solution design through to negotiation, contract negotiation as well as ongoing account management.
  • Manage and grow strategic client relationships, ensuring satisfaction while identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities across EquiLend’s product suite.
  • Develop and execute regional go-to-market strategies tailored to client needs, regulatory context, and market developments in Asia.
  • Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for high-value clients, coordinating internal teams to deliver outstanding service and drive adoption.
  • Represent EquiLend at industry events, roundtables, and client forums to build visibility and cultivate new connections.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting using CRM tools such as Salesforce, contributing to strategic sales planning.
  • Provide client feedback and market intelligence to product and commercial teams to inform product development and innovation.
  • Navigate client procurement, due diligence, and IT/security onboarding processes to support seamless delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with internal colleagues in Client Success, Solutions Engineering, Legal, and Product to ensure end-to-end client satisfaction.


Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services or financial technology, with a strong emphasis on B2B sales and business development.
  • Demonstrated ability to win new business and manage strategic client relationships within the Asia financial markets.
  • A true hunter mentality with a proactive, metrics-driven approach to identifying and closing new opportunities.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and engage with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Skilled in complex deal negotiation and solution selling, with experience in long-cycle, high-value contracts.
  • Familiarity with selling SaaS, data, and reporting platforms to financial institutions is highly desirable.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling abilities, able to tailor messaging to diverse audiences including C-suite executives.
  • Experience using CRM platforms like Salesforce for pipeline tracking, client engagement, and forecasting.
  • Commercial acumen and analytical mindset to understand client data, performance metrics, and growth potential.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a global, fast-paced environment.
