We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director of Internal Audit to join our client in the life sciences industry. Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive internal audit policies, procedures, and risk assessments in line with SOX.
  • Lead and manage operational audits, ensuring all business processes are effective, efficient, and in compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Review and evaluate the company's internal controls, operations, and processes for efficiency and effectiveness; recommend improvements where necessary.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage audits to ensure all audit issues are resolved and compliance is maintained with all required regulations.
  • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and make recommendations to top management for necessary changes and improvements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal audit procedures and risk assessment processes.
  • Oversee the review of financial statements and documents to check for accuracy, compliance, and fraudulent activity.
  • Monitor and analyze the implementation of the company's internal controls and provide technical accounting guidance as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on best audit and control practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA will be considered an advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in internal auditing, risk management, or a related field, preferably within the life sciences industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of internal audit procedures, risk assessment, SOX, operational audit, technical accounting, and internal controls.
  • Proven experience in planning and executing audits and implementing audit strategies in a large organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Proficient in using audit software and other related tools.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certifications are highly desirable.
