Associate Director, Applications System Development

As a leader at Global Payments, you will take responsibility for the delivery of business-critical products. We are looking for someone to manage a delivery team that can lead innovation, drive improvements, set technical direction, and consistently meet the needs of the business.

You will:

• Manage technical talent acquisition, growth and retention
• Work with product and key stakeholders to set desired product roadmaps
• Drive critical improvements to stay ahead of the growing business needs
• Evaluate new technologies and delivery practices
• Drive accurate and efficient project estimates
• Create project plans, identify dependencies and risks, and allocate resources
• Develop capacity plans and skills assessments
• Stay up to date on the latest security threats and secure application design and coding practices
• Manage third party consultants
• Lead the design, craftsmanship, availability, resilience, security and scalability of your solutions
• Foster a culture to stay on top of technology trends and participate in technology communities
• Encourage innovation, inclusion, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
• Lead and mentor a team of development, quality assurance, and support engineers
• Simultaneously drive multiple large initiatives potentially across multiple scrum teams
• Prepare and present technical presentations and project status
• Provide required information for the annual budget

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree. Relevant experience or degree in Software Engineering related field of study from an accredited university is required; however, relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
• Typically, a minimum of 15 years related professional experience including a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a supervisory position.
• 10 or more years’ experience in software development and delivery using Java
