THE DEPOSITORY TRUST & CLEARING CORPORATION SEEKS:

TITLE: Associate Director Application Support Engineer

JOB DUTIES: Responsible for leading technical support of the application. The role will be implementing all aspects of the operating procedures/runbooks within a predefined shift pattern. This role is encouraged to work closely with the required development teams and our internal business clients to resolve technical support incidents where vital and connect with senior leadership. Current responsibility needs specialize in maintaining and providing technical support for all applications that are beyond the development stage and are running in the daily operations of the Clearing Corp ensuring the participants across the board meet their SLA and ensuring the reports are met on time with the regulators outside the firm. This role works closely with development teams, infrastructure partners and internal clients to advance and resolve technical support incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the technical team in a fast-paced 24X7 environment of the risk management area under the clearing corporation for equities and fixed income domain for both production and production staging environment (PSE) processes in Distributed and Mainframe environments.
  • Perform deep analysis to identify potential inefficient points and implement simple & powerful tools to reduce/forecast/eliminate future failures in the risk management area for the equities and fixed income clearing corporation business lines.
  • Act as a front runner lead tracking the readiness status for the risk suite of applications, participate in Disaster Recovery / Loss of Region events (planned and unplanned) executing tasks and collecting evidence. Troubleshoot issues when needed to meet the TRTO of the application in production.
  • Produce Monthly Service Reviews (MSR) with Development partners to go over KPI metrics identifying the trends / patterns and mitigate the noises enabling the team to act on real alerts impacting the environment.
  • Track the manual activities performed by the team efficiently and coordinate with the development teams and help in achieving the automation around to reduce the manual touch points.
  • Being a primary stake holder liaison in managing the application releases and making sure all the datapoints towards the runbook, monitoring, holiday processing, disaster recovery procedure, application readiness.
  • Analyze existing knowledge articles and runbooks for any inefficiency. Support audit requests in a timely fashion providing needed documentation and evidence.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to achieve consolidated monitoring platforms. Review and finalize response to requests for information.
  • Enable Automated Disaster Recovery monitoring scripts in response of planned and unplanned outages, ensuring appropriate steps are automated with limited user intervention.
  • Design and implement automation to reduce the cost of ongoing application monitoring. Create, Modify and Monitor Dashboards to better catch potential issues and aide in observability.
  • Integrate with application to achieve application transparency to expose potential issues and future outages.
  • Facilitate internal review and validation of support and resiliency Non-Functional Requirements during the development phase of new applications or new amendments.
  • Help application teams to automate their existing manual password procedures.
  • Coordination of the pre-production/post-production application with necessary monitoring and tooling.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any) or related field and 7 years of experience in the job or related position. Prior experience to include:

  • Troubleshooting application issues in SQL/PLSQL, Unix, and Linux
  • Application batch monitoring and handling Autosys jobs using JIL (job information language) and Talend jobs.
  • Python, Perl, and Unix Shell Scripts for automation and script troubleshooting issues during outages and major incidents.
  • Handling warehouse applications hosted on snowflake and supporting the ETL of application data through Informatica data quality and data hub modules using pytel and shell executions on talend jobs.
  • Using Service Now and Jira to handle the ticketing system for alert, incident, change and problem management and produce reports / metrics. Configure and Run application monitoring with Splunk, App Dynamics and Dynatrace in real time to manage application alerts, health and dashboards covering end to end workflow of the applications.
  • Production application management on Passwords and automation experience in managing and updating passwords on regular expiry schedule.
  • Monitor and support the application hosted on Mainframe and its scheduling and handle Job abends, Predecessor/Successor, check and troubleshoot issues across applications.
  • Support and resolve issues related to cloud applications hosted on AWS S3, ECS and OpenShift platform.

Telecommuting may be permitted a few days a week. When not telecommuting, must report to DTCC’s office in Coppell, TX.
