Role Overview

As the Assistant Service Manager , you are expected to lead by example for the service team of this community with 168 apartment-homes. Help set the standard by demonstrating superior technical skills and leadership. You are the right-hand person for the Service Manager.

We own and operate all of our assets and invest in the long-term. We have 5 communities in the Charlotte area and 10 in NC overall.

Most Important Responsibilities

• Demonstrate keen leadership qualities and take initiative to help guide the team as they make timely high-quality repairs, perform preventive maintenance, and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Work closely with the Service Manager and the entire team to communicate the mechanical/technical aspects of the community and make good decisions.
• Share your knowledge with the team, while continuing to develop your own future management potential.
• Help manage the day-to-day maintenance activities for this community.
• Oversee quality of final work product, while performing tasks yourself, i.e. turns and tickets.
  
  

Most Important Qualifications

• MUST BE A GO-GETTER with a proven track record of stepping up to the plate and taking initiative.
• Demonstrated leadership skills required.
• 3+ years of recent hands-on experience in apartment maintenance, preferably at a demanding community with high standards.
• EPA certification required and CPO preferred.
• Solid track record of HVAC skills, plumbing, drywall, carpentry, electrical, appliance repair, etc.
• Must be willing to participate in the emergency on-call rotation every fourth week (shared with a sister community).
• Vehicle, driver’s license, appropriate tools
• Ability to assess and address problems quickly, good organization skills and strong follow-up.
