Job Summary: The Assistant Security Manager will support the Security Manager in ensuring the safety and security of personnel, goods, assets, and facilities across the company’s logistics operations. This role is responsible for monitoring security processes, assisting in loss prevention strategies, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards to protect the supply chain against risks, theft, and disruptions.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and enforcing security policies and procedures across warehouses, transport hubs, and distribution centers.
Oversee and monitor access control systems, surveillance (CCTV) operations, and alarm responses.
Support the investigation of cargo theft, inventory discrepancies, and breaches in security protocols.
Coordinate guard force management and supervise contracted security personnel.
Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments at logistics sites to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
Support emergency response planning and drills for incidents such as fires, break-ins, and natural disasters.
Ensure all inbound and outbound cargo handling complies with security and safety guidelines.
Liaise with law enforcement, customs, and regulatory bodies during investigations or inspections.
Prepare and maintain reports on incidents, inspections, and risk mitigation measures.
Provide security awareness training for logistics staff and drivers on loss prevention and safe handling practices.
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Security Management, Logistics, Criminology, or a related field.
At least 3-5 years of experience in security, preferably within logistics, supply chain, warehousing, or freight operations.
Strong understanding of cargo security, transportation safety, and regulatory compliance (e.g., C-TPAT, TAPA, ISO).
Proficiency with security systems (CCTV, access control, alarm systems) and reporting tools.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, as needed.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Protection Professional, Security Risk Management) are an advantage.
Working Conditions:
Work may involve standing or patrolling for extended periods.
May require responding to after-hours emergencies or incidents.
Site visits to warehouses, depots, and transit points will be necessary.
