Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture is looking for an Assistant Secondary DC Manager!
Location: 5968 South State St. Murray, UT
Position: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Job Type: Full-time/Permanent
Wage: $25/hr!
What You Will Do:
- Provide supervisory and managerial support in the day-to-day operations and running of the Secondary DC Associates, Managers, Delivery Drivers and overall operations.
- Provide “world class” customer service on the phone, in the warehouse and on deliveries.
- The Secondary DC Manager serves as a substitute driver as needed and observes safe lifting methods.
- Obtain and maintain comprehensive knowledge of our products (i.e., dimensions and weight, assembly, construction materials) in the course of storing, moving and assembling our merchandise.
- Transport incoming merchandise to correct areas of warehouse.
- Adhere to, enforce and report all safety policies and procedures in the distribution and on-site supervision of Deliver Drivers with Transportation team.
- Supervise Delivery Driver’s compliance and all white glove services with the Transportation team.
- Match product to invoice, packing slip or bill of lading accurately.
- Have a keen sense to achieve financial objectives and prioritize employee development, performance metrics and accountability within the warehouse culture.
- Maintain a safe workplace through training and accident prevention/preparedness and ensure the location is in compliance with requirements and forklift certifications.
- Assemble merchandise correctly and handle merchandise with care to prevent damage.
- Follows all company safety and accident procedures while on company premises or operating company vehicles or equipment.
- Additional duties as assigned and expect ad-hoc projects and duties.
Who you are:
- 3 years minimum of Distribution/Warehouse leadership/management and supply chain management, including “last mile” delivery
- Operating forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, hand tools equipment experiences preferred
- Able to lift 75 lbs., unassisted, moving furniture in showroom, warehouse, onto trucks and into customer’s homes
- Excellent customer service, team and communication skills
- Experience in large volume durable goods distribution and furniture experience is a big plus
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of the role of operations
- Able to stand, walk, push, pull, bend and stoop for 8 hours
- Exposure to external weather, heat and cold and common warehouse conditions
- Exposure to noise and moving machinery
- Office setting using standard office equipment, seated at computer, keyboard monitor and phone
- Basic math, computer and POS skills with a high degree of accuracy
MUST: - Have a valid state issued driver’s license
- CDL preferred but not required.
- Able to successfully complete our pre-employment physical and drug screening.
- Able to obtain a DOT Medical certificate.
- Employment in this role is dependent on maintaining all DOT and driving certifications if applicable to the location.
- All our positions must successfully complete new hire background and drug screening.
EDUCATION
- High School diploma or equivalent GED, +1 years successful people and project management experience, preferably in a /DC warehouse environment. Associates Degree in business or supply chain management highly appreciated.
