We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the
Public Affairs Office :
Major Duties And Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Public Affairs or his/her nominee(s), the appointee will be responsible for supporting the Public Affairs Office and its Public Relations (PR) Team in the following key duties:
- Planning, organizing, and implementing University-level ceremonies, PR and media-related events that align with the University’s mission, vision and strategic goals, while managing all practical aspects of the event execution, including venue booking, equipment setup and event registration;
- Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the events are delivered to a high standard of excellence, effectively promoting the University’s image and reputation;
- Providing logistical coordination and support for key events organised by schools, departments and other offices to maximise the University’s publicity;
- Assisting in coordinating community and stakeholder engagement activities, including campus visits, to strengthen relationships and foster meaningful connections;
- Planning and managing the production of corporate souvenirs, monitor stock levels, and ensure timely replenishment to support University events and branding efforts;
- Coordinating and managing campus decorations, including the production of animations and videos for LED panels and façade of the campuses, ensuring alignment with the University’s branding strategy;
- Supporting the digitalisation and organisation of the University’s photo and video archives for easy access and preservation;
- Managing and updating the University’s website to enhance its image and branding effectively;
- Supervising and guiding junior staff to ensure the effective execution of assigned tasks and projects, while providing mentorship and support as needed;
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the Director of Public Affairs or his/her nominee.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A recognised degree (preferably in journalism, communications, public relations or related disciplines) with at least 5 years’ relevant post-qualification experience;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (proficiency in Putonghua is an added advantage);
- Strong PR sense with event management experience;
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated with analytical mind, a strong sense of responsibility and a can-do spirit;
- A good team player with good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Well-organised with strong multi-tasking and time management skills;
- Ability to manage projects independently and work under pressure and tight deadlines; and
- Flexible and willing to work outside office hours when required.
