Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and service-oriented Assistant Property Manager - Low-Income Housing to support the day-to-day operations of a low-income housing community. This role assists the Property Manager in ensuring compliance with housing regulations, maintaining tenant satisfaction, and overseeing property upkeep. Ideal candidates will have experience with HUD, LIHTC, or other affordable housing programs and a passion for helping others.
Responsibilities Of The Assistant Property Manager - Low-Income Housing
- Assist with leasing activities, including processing applications and conducting unit tours.
- Verify income and eligibility documentation in compliance with affordable housing regulations.
- Maintain accurate resident records and lease files.
- Respond to resident inquiries and service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Support rent collection and enforce lease terms.
- Conduct regular property inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Prepare correspondence, notices, and reports as required.
- Collaborate with vendors, maintenance staff, and social service providers.
Required Experience/Skills for the Assistant Property Manager - Low-Income Housing:
- 1 - 2 years of experience in property management or administrative support in housing.
- Knowledge of HUD, Section 8, LIHTC, or other low-income housing regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Assistant Property Manager - Low-Income Housing:
- Experience using Yardi, AppFolio, or similar property management systems.
- Bilingual (Spanish, Mandarin, etc.) is preferred.
- Fair Housing and Tax Credit Specialist certifications are a plus.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Associate's degree or coursework in Business, Property Management, or a related field is preferred.
