Assistant Project Manager

Location: Rochester, Kent

Salary: Circa £41,000 (DOE)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

Our client is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of complex engineering projects across the full lifecycle—from proposals and product development to production and in-service support. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, technically advanced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage small projects or work packages, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality
• Maintain project plans and manage risks, opportunities, and interdependencies
• Produce and present progress reports to leadership
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers
• Occasionally travel to UK or international sites as needed

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Project management experience in an engineering or product-based environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project

Desirable:

• APMQ or equivalent qualification
• Experience in aerospace or defence sectors
