Our client fluctuates between 30-40 employees and operates with a vertically integrated structure. They have an in-house architecture team, along with a dedicated commercial office that houses project managers (PMs) and project engineers (PEs), who collaborate closely with them. The field team includes supers, two crews of carpenters, and laborers.
They are making some strategic shifts within our team to support growth, especially as they expand into more government-related projects, primarily in the education sector (middle and high schools).
The company handles all carpentry labor in-house for all projects, making them more price competitive. Additionally, they own an HVAC company, further enhancing their capabilities and streamlining operations.
The company's construction volume ranges from $20M to $30M, with 50% focused on multifamily (MF) rehab projects. The remaining volume is split between commercial, government, and residential work.
Their service area spans Metro Detroit, all the way to Ann Arbor and downriver. Recently, they were awarded a $40M luxury multifamily project in early fall.
Description
The company is primarily office-based, but all project team members are expected to visit job sites as needed-typically at least once a week. There's a strong emphasis on getting into the field to truly understand the work and the progress on site.
