Summary

The CORE Assistant Project Manager is responsible to support the Project Manager with the financial and technical management of the project and supports/leads all phases of project planning and execution. The Assistant Project Manager plans, organizes, leads and controls projects in accordance with the established policies and procedures of CORE while meeting the expectations of the Client. While each assignment varies, major specific duties of the Assistant Project Manager include: * Embody CORE's values of Integrity, Fairness, Continuous Improvement and Results! * Be a leader and actively promote a healthy culture within the project team. * Be developmentally minded and actively develop and train project engineers and interns. * Participate in preconstruction by assisting with constructability reviews, logistic planning, schedule development and defining scopes. * Support the maintaining of the CPM Project Schedule through leading the permit process and material procurement tracking for the project. * Lead the Project Engineers in their document control duties including submittal reviews, RFI management, ASI tracking, updating project documents, meeting minutes, daily reporting, photo documentation, etc. * Under the direction of the Project Manager or Senior PM, participate in the buy-out phase of the project. * Maintain a thorough understanding of the Owner Contract, trade partner agreements, the Front Ends (if applicable), and all project documents. * Proficient with CORE software's, i.e., Vista, Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Textura, OPEX, etc. and train project engineers as necessary. * Assist the Project Manager with financial duties including the pay app process, change order management, forecasting project costs and overall cost control measures as needed. * Be an advocate for the Construction Technology and VDC teams on your project. Understand and implement their services to enhance the outcome of the project and bring awareness to our clients about our innovative capabilities. * Actively contribute with the team in establishing a project specific safety program and lead its review regularly. Lead by example through weekly participation in safety inspections. * Actively contribute with the team in establishing a project specific quality program and lead its review regularly. * Develop and maintain positive relationships with the owner, designers, consultants, trade partners, material suppliers, inspectors, and staff. * Assist the project manager with planning and facilitating effective OAC meetings, trade partner meetings and other project meetings as needed. * Manage risk on the project through adherence to CORE policies and procedures, and proactive communication with Project Manager or Senior PM. * Lead the project team to an expedited closeout process including all work completed in the field (including punch list) as well as all administrative duties within 30 days of substantial completion. * Assist the business development teams in future opportunities by promoting positive public relations, interviewing for potential projects, and supporting strategic growth strategies. * Assist the project manager with monthly PSRs and CSRs preparation and be an active contributor during the meetings. * In their absence, assume the duties and responsibilities of the Project Engineer. This is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the employee is not eligible for overtime compensation. * Relevant work experience/internship working for a commercial construction, engineering or architecture company * Professional Degree in construction management, architecture or a related field (mechanical or civil engineering, construction tech, interior design, business administration) is preferred * Basic understanding of construction project sequencing and scheduling * Ability to review and understand drawings and specifications as well as constructability * Ability to negotiate, write and execute all subcontract agreements * Strong communications skills, both written and verbal * Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam and Procore * Experience with CMAR and/or Design/Build delivery methods * Must work well in a team environment and be committed to client service * A valid Driver's License CORE provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
