Summary

We are currently seeking an addition to the Real Estate Development department of a growing W. Los Angeles real estate investment firm to help manage the growing pipeline of value-add, adaptive re-use, and ground-up construction development projects, tenant improvement and capex projects for the existing real estate portfolio. The development pipeline includes residential units and over 100k sq. ft. of commercial space.The existing real estate portfolio consists of over 500,000 sq. ft. of multi tenant retail, creative office, medical office, and industrial space with an eclectic mix of tenants and a consistent need for tenant improvement projects and capex work.


The Assistant Project Manager, will help keep the pace of progress for the pipeline of tenant improvement projects by ensuring key deliverables and project timelines are met and maintained. We are looking for a dynamic, disciplined, well-organized, and highly motivated individual to add to the growing team.


Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of the real estate development process by coordinating tasks, resources, and project milestones. Maintain and update project trackers to ensure timely completion of due diligence, design, permitting, and construction phases.
  • Proactively monitor project progress, identify potential risks to timelines or budgets, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Coordinate communication among architects, contractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely project delivery and facilitate the efficient flow of information within the development team and between internal and external partners.
  • Assist in preparing RFQs, RFPs, and related documentation for project proposals. Evaluate vendor proposals to ensure alignment with project scope, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Track vendor invoices and payments, verifying adherence to contracts and project budgets.
  • Collaborate with the development team to create and manage development and project budgets. Support financial tracking and analysis to ensure projects remain within budget and meet financial objectives.
  • Assist in construction administration, including managing documents, change orders, and pay requests. Provide essential administrative support, ensuring smooth operations across multiple development projects.
  • Organize and manage departmental meetings, prepare agendas, and document meeting notes.
  • Ensure timely filing and organization of critical project documents for easy accessibility.
  • Conduct research on property information, case filings, and development strategies, synthesizing findings into actionable insights. Perform cost and timeline comparisons and evaluate business plans to support strategic decision-making.

  • Knowledge of financial tracking, budgeting processes, and vendor management.
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of construction processes, architectural drawings, and permitting.
  • Strong research skills for property analysis and strategy development.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, construction management, architecture, urban planning, business, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in real estate development, project management, construction, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project management tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical skills with experience in budgeting, financial tracking, or vendor management.
