Purpose of Role

Daemen University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty position in the Nursing Department starting 01 September 2025. The 1+2+1 program is a dual degree program where students earn both an Associate's and Bachelor's degree in four years. Years one and four are completed at Daemen University. During years two and three, students earn their Associate's degree at one of our partner community colleges. Students are able to sit for the NCLEX exam at the end of year three.

About This Opportunity

Joining our Nursing team, the Assistant Professor/Nurses Association will be responsible for the following:

The faculty members will be teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs in nursing. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Provide advisement to diverse students for persistence to graduation, future academic pursuits, and/or professional nursing practice
  • Participate in the orientation program for the 1+2+1 students
  • Facilitate communication between Daemen University and the partner schools and conduct additional meetings as needed
  • Oversee the Undergraduate Nursing Department meetings each semester
  • Conduct a Joint Curriculum meeting each semester with the partner schools
  • Participate in the partner schools' advisory meetings each year
  • Assist in marketing, communications, and student recruitment for the Nursing Department and Daemen University

Within the Scott Bieler College of Health Professions, Daemen offers several different nursing degree tracks. In addition to the 1+2+1 program, a RN-BS program is offered at the undergraduate level. Daemen University offers several graduate degree programs, including Nursing Education, Nursing Leadership and Health Administration, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care and Acute Care Programs.

Required Qualifications

The minimum qualifications are a Master of Science Degree in Nursing and be actively enrolled in a Doctoral program. The position involves leadership and oversight of the 1+2+1 nursing program curriculum, including teaching in various formats, providing comprehensive academic student advisement, and developing program completion plans for students. The role requires collaboration with institution colleagues and healthcare agency leaders to ensure optimal program operation, and coordinate student transitions between partner schools.

Daemen University offers a robust total compensation package that includes:
