Preferred Job Duties
Caldwell University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Psychology in the School of Arts and Sciences. This is a full-time, tenure-track appointment beginning in the Fall 2025 semester. Areas of expertise are open, but multicultural psychology or biological psychology are preferred. The Department prepares students to be competent professionals in psychology. Applicants should be willing to teach day, evening, summer, and/or online formats, as needed. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate courses, including within their specialty area, such as General Psychology, Psychological Statics, Writing in Psychology, Psychology of Personality, Psychopathology, Psychology of Learning, Cross-Cultural Psychology, and Biological Psychology, as well as advise psychology majors. Job duties and requirements include, but are not limited to:
- A Ph.D. or terminal degree in a related field, plus prior teaching experience, are required.
- Experience using an online course management system such as Blackboard is expected.
- Teaching sections of First-Year Seminar on a rotating basis.
- Participating in University-wide committee work.
- Contributing to curriculum improvements and development of future Department and School programs.
- Continued scholarly growth and development, including research with students.
- Expected to participate in department, school, and all-faculty meetings, and activities including open houses, convocation, commencement, etc.
