Summary

Job Description: The William M. Lasky School of Business of Norwich University invites applicants for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Accounting beginning July 2025. Responsibilities include teaching various undergraduate accounting courses (principles of financial accounting, cost accounting, individual and corporate income tax, government and not-for-profit accounting, and data analytics). This position requires enthusiasm and engagement in the direction and continuing evolution of the accounting program and participation in the school's scholarship activities. Additional responsibilities include program administration, student academic advising, active professional development through scholarship, and university service. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to the ongoing development of the MBA program, including course development and student advising. Requirements: A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching is essential. Although the preferred candidate will possess an appropriate doctorate in accounting, consideration will also be given to candidates possessing a relevant master's degree (MAcc/MSA/MBA) coupled with a professional credential (CPA/CMA/CGMA) and a demonstrated knowledge of the current accounting and auditing standards. Preference will be given to individuals with interests and experience in forensic accounting. Professional and industry experience in accounting, auditing, and taxation is highly desirable. Prior teaching experience at the university level and research experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to work inclusively and respectfully within a diverse campus community and practice civility in the workplace. The candidate should also possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an eclectic array of students and colleagues.
