Job Overview

The Assistant Professor in Mechatronics is responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Mechatronics, contributing to research, and participating in departmental and institutional activities. The role requires a strong foundation in mechanical, electronics, and computer engineering to educate students on the integration of systems and prepare them for advancements in automation, robotics, and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Curriculum Development:

  • Deliver lectures, practicals, and seminars in core Mechatronics subjects.
  • Develop, update, and improve course materials and syllabi.
  • Mentor and supervise student projects, internships, and lab activities.
  • Evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and conduct assessments.

Research And Development

  • Conduct research in Mechatronics or related fields.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary research collaborations within and outside the institution.

Laboratory Management

  • Oversee the Mechatronics lab, ensuring that all equipment is functional and safe.
  • Design and supervise laboratory activities, projects, and experiments.

Student Advice And Mentoring

  • Advise students on academic and career pathways within the Mechatronics field.
  • Assist students with research and development ideas, project proposals, and presentation skills.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Education: Ph.D. or Masters degree in Mechatronics or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Teaching experience in an academic environment is preferred. Industry experience in automation, robotics, control systems, or IoT will be an advantage.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in control systems, robotics, electronics, and automation.
  • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C++) and simulation software (e.g., SolidWorks, LabVIEW).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective teaching and research.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to mentor students, work collaboratively with faculty, and engage in active academic networking.
