Job Summary
The School of Computing and Information Sciences at Radford University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in teaching and research, starting in August 2025. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about teaching and possess expertise in various fields of Computer Science, with a focus on applied learning. The ideal candidates will also demonstrate enthusiasm and ability to develop a research program that actively engages undergraduate students. Candidates are expected to teach and collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse communities and backgrounds.
The School of Computing and Information Sciences at Radford University offers two undergraduate degrees: BS in Computer Science and Technology, and a B.S in Cybersecurity and a graduate degree, M.S in Data and Information Management. The BS in Computer Science and Technology supports 4 concentrations in Software Engineering, Databases, Networking and Computer Science. The Computer Science concentration and the BS in Cybersecurity are both ABET accredited. In addition, Radford University is an NSA Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education. The School takes pride in equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need through hands-on learning, ensuring they are well-prepared for their careers. Faculty members actively mentor students in research and competitive computing events, including the ACM Programming Contest and various cybersecurity competitions.

Required Qualifications
- Ability and willingness to teach courses in at least two of the following areas: data structures, software engineering, databases, networking, and security.
- A minimum of one published paper in the candidate's area of research.
- A Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching Computer Science courses.
- Experience instructing diverse learners at various levels, employing a range of teaching methods.
- A willingness and ability to learn and teach additional areas of Computer Science, such as databases, cybersecurity, and cloud computing, to support the department's needs.
- Possess experience or demonstrate interest in developing hands-on exercises and building lab infrastructure within the candidate's area of expertise to support such exercises.
Education
A Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
