Description
The Department of Social Work at Springfield College invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Social Work who will also serve as the MSW Program Director to start in Summer, 2025. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and innovative educator with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and experience with online learning and program development.
Responsibilities
* Serve as the MSW Program Director, providing leadership and oversight of the program, including curriculum development, accreditation, student recruitment, and faculty mentoring.
* Teach graduate-level social work courses with a focus on policy, research, and related areas, both in-person and online.
* The college subscribes to the Boyer areas of scholarship. Candidates should have an active research agenda (or promise of) in any of the Boyer areas of scholarship that has potential for dissemination beyond the college.
* Mentor and advise MSW students, supporting their academic and professional development.
* Foster an inclusive learning environment that reflects the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our student population.
* Collaborate with department faculty and university administration to ensure the success of the MSW program.
Qualifications
* Earned doctorate in Social Work or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
* Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a CSWE-accredited program.
* Eligibility for or current licensure in social work.
* A record of teaching excellence, including experience with online and hybrid learning modalities.
* Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice in teaching, research, and service.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in academic leadership or program administration.
* Experience in curriculum development and CSWE accreditation processes.
* A track record of securing external funding for research or program development.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, community partners, and other stakeholders.
