Summary

Reports To: Manager of Community Investments FSLA Status: Hourly Travel Required: Yes Position Summary The Assistant Manager of Community Investment works with GBFB's direct distribution Mobile Markets and Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) sites. This position oversees the day-to-day administrative responsibilities of direct distribution programming and manages partnerships with existing direct distribution sites and provides ongoing trainings and support to site coordinators and volunteers. The Assistant Manager also on boards new distribution partners within the Eastern Massachusetts Community. This role collaborates across the team to identify opportunities for new partnerships in underserved communities. The Assistant Manager ensures GBFB's direct distribution programming is client conscious and results in equitable and diverse efforts. Role & Responsibilities * Manage direct distribution partnerships and ensure relationships are productive and agreements are upheld, including being on site during distribution as required for outreach, training, or quality purposes. * Perform administrative responsibilities related to Direct Distribution initiatives including order entry, customer service, compliance, and monthly service reporting, as well as development and maintenance of standard operating procedures for Direct Distribution programs. Oversee components of Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), including partner recruitment, training, relationship management, site compliance, food distribution, record keeping. Train program partners in online client management software, Oasis, and provide ongoing assistance. Ensure data accuracy and manage client recertification process in partnership with direct distribution sites. * Coordinate with GBFB Nutrition Manager to develop and Transportation Supervisor to distribute Nutrition Education materials to CSFP partner sites. * Train new site coordinators and volunteer leaders in direct distribution models and provide a high level of customer service while maintaining open communication both internally and externally. * Assess and evaluate current partnerships to increase reach/effectiveness of program sites. Tasks include, but are not limited to, running internal data reports, and working with sites to identify areas of growth, creating plans, and providing ongoing follow up. Manage the implementation of Direct Distribution programming with a focus on expanding to high-need areas or special populations. * Organize annual Direct Distribution Calendar planning process, liaising with program partners, GBFB Logistics Specialist, and Transportation Supervisor. * Document program partner interactions in Salesforce and share pertinent programs updates across the Community Impact team. * Maintain Food Safety Certification. * Ensure AIB standards are maintained. * Other duties as assigned. Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred. * 3 to 5 years of experience working with nonprofit service providers or a customer service setting, required. * Foodservice, food safety, or other directly related work experience, a plus. * Ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines. * Detail-oriented with strong follow-through, time management, documentation, and organizational skills. * Demonstrated resiliency, strong relationship building and interpersonal skills. * Ability to have difficult conversations with program partners and community organizations and achieve a positive outcome. * Sensitivity to issues affecting low-income, underrepresented, and food insecure populations. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle, required. * Experience with CRM software, like Salesforce, preferred. * Multiple languages, spoken and written, a plus. * Genuine appreciation of GBFB's mission and the ability to communicate it. * Demonstrates the required digital competencies that result in the effective usage of the full range of digital technologies at GBFB. Physical Demands * Ability to work in an office environment. * Ability to sit for up to 3 hours at a time. * Ability to lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance. * Ability the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. * Ability to travel based on business needs Work Environment * Hybrid: This role follows a hybrid schedule working in accordance with GBFB's hybrid work policy on the team's designated days. This schedule is subject to change based on the organization's mission to end hunger. Some weekend and evening hours, as required. * The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting. * Events could take place in a warehouse or in an outdoor setting. * Some in-state program site visits require periodic travel.
