Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Manager to join our dynamic LA based start up division of Tsuburaya (Ultraman) - with HQ in Tokyo, Japan. The ideal candidate will have experience managing licensing operations (including product development & creative) and a strong understanding of licensing software, such as Flowhaven, to streamline processes and ensure smooth and accurate administration of all licenses.  

Key Responsibilities:

Account Management

• Works alongside SVP of Licensing and Director of Marketing & PD to manage licensee’s day to day activities.  
• Responsible for overseeing Product Development alongside the Director of Marketing. Coordinate in conjunction with colleagues in Japan. 
• Participates and coordinates in the planning of and attendance at trade shows such as Licensing Expo, Toy Fair, Comicon etc.
• Creates presentation decks and promotional materials

Software Management:

• Utilize licensing software (e.g., Flowhaven) to input, track, monitor, and report on licensing performance.
• Provide support and training to internal stakeholders and licensees on the use of licensing software and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the licensing system, working with IT or the software vendor as needed.

Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure all licensing agreements are properly documented and stored in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Review and audit licensing contracts for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
• Coordinate renewals, amendments, and terminations of licensing agreements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate with legal, finance, and product teams to ensure the smooth operation of licensing processes.
• Act as the main point of contact for licensing-related queries and support across departments.
• Assist in the preparation of licensing reports and presentations for management.

Reporting & Analysis:

• Monitor licensing performance and generate reports on revenue, royalties, and product compliance.
• Analyze licensing data and provide insights for improving processes and maximizing revenue opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in Licensing
• Hands-on experience with licensing software such as Flowhaven or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of licensing processes, contract management, and intellectual property law.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite, other project management tools.



Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with royalty reporting and financial reconciliation related to licensing.
• Experience in contract negotiation and working closely with legal teams.
