Summary

Job Purpose:

  • Responsibility for monitoring compliance with credit standards and recommending policy and procedural enhancements across MB and OFC to create a lower risk, more consistent and more easily auditable credit environment.
  • Analyze and process credit proposals and applications of MashreqBank’s retail Lending Products also including self employed and complex transactions.
  • To ensure smooth implementation of the front-end automation of credit process solution across all lending products with significant gains in customer experience and productivity.
  • Regulating all approvals within the Credit Policy and Product parameters.
  • Ensuring consistent application of credit policy, quality of underwriting decisions and of documents held as collateral.
  • Responsible for the supervisory credit review function as and when required for RBG Products through implementation of standard operating procedures and policies as per Product Program Guidelines.
  • Responsible as a reliable back up in the absence of team leader/Asst Manager.
  • Responsible in the development of the new staff into the team and also periodically assist in the training of the new staff in the team


Key Result Areas:

  • Develop and manage a team of skilled credit and procedural analysts in auditing credit policies and procedures for all retail products using best practices statistical techniques on available data.
  • Develop plan with technology and rest of Retail Credit Centre to enhance and improve the level of data collected to ensure rapid improvement in data analysis capability for scorecard enhancement and credit analysis.
  • Work with Collections and Recovery to develop procedures to cure bad credits and incorporate insights into enhanced underwriting standards.
  • To maintain good credit quality portfolio by establishing practices to achieve satisfactory audit rating and thereby keeping the net write-offs below 2% of the total portfolio size.
  • Assist Marketing Committee in developing customer knowledge based insights and marketing program that will effectively leverage the Bank’s capabilities to most profitably pursue opportunities.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to manage auditing of underwriting effectiveness and policy compliance using best practices analytical techniques.
  • Exception analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage junior staff on an ongoing basis.
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices in underwriting and policy development.
  • Strong knowledge of bank’s operations, sales and support environments, superior customer focus.
  • Strong analytical, attentive to detail, exceptional team leader, cool under pressure, responsive to customer needs.
  • 6 – 12 years of banking experience incorporating credit analysis, underwriting, large scale statistical analysis and leadership responsibilities.
