Job purpose
• Lead and accountable for the deliverables of Accounts Operations for Axiata Digital Labs Sdn Bhd (“ADLMY”), SPV 4 Sdn Bhd (“SPV4 ”) and Axiata Investments Singapore Ltd ( “AIS”), mainly on recording and processing of transactions at for the entities and any other tasks at Corporate Centre. The Assistant Manager also responsible for internal and external reporting of the assigned entities during monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting process.• Overall, the Assistant Manager, Accounts Operations is accountable and responsible for accuracy, completeness, timeliness and reliability of the financial operations and reporting of entities assigned under his/ her portfolio.• Has a huge impact on operational efficiencies in the accounting operations and reporting at Corporate Centre (“CC”) and entities assigned• Highly contributes to timely reports for compliance to statutory and regulatory requirements for entities assigned (i.e Malaysia, or Labuan). This includes liaison and engagement with statutory auditors for the respective entities.• Performed any other tasks assigned by SuperiorsScope & authority
• The Assistant Manager reports to Manager, Accounts Operations and is highly responsible for providing financial data and supervising daily operations for entities assigned. These include provision of the entities financial data to management and for usage by other division for their projects/ deliverables. As such, s/he needs to ensure the financial records of the entities are well maintained, reliable and accurately reported on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis• Make decisions regarding administrative matters within the scope of the role, seeking approval from Manager, HOD and GFC, when necessary.• Prioritize tasks and manage time and resources available in CC.• Manage resources and network of people in Corporate Centre and Opcos (Interco related) efficiently and effectively to accomplish assigned tasks and responsibilities.• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing information, updates, and reports as required.• Provide accurate and timely reports on job-related activities and achievements as required.• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in carrying out job duties.• Access and handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism, maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.
Key accountabilities: • Foster a collaborative working environment within and across CC divisions to attain key corporate goals and initiatives• Perform the day-to-day verification of financial transactions and manage operations of the assigned entities and related tasks in the areas below:
• Supervision and verification of processed transactions not only to ensure timely and error- free settlement to vendors and employees (if applicable). Overall, need to ensure all transactions are recorded timely, complete and accurately.• Prepare reports and present the balance sheet reconciliation accounts to sub-ledger on a periodic basis.• Ensure intercompany billings, intercompany balances and reconciliations are performed on monthly/ quarterly basis. Proper intercompany charging and timely collection and clean-up of intercompany balances.• Prepare and provide periodic financial reports to Group Accounts, Group BP, Group Treasury division, other CC divisions and other necessary reports for management and other external parties .• Perform accounting operational work to support monthly ledger closing and reporting schedules, i.e verification/ closing processes.• Perform self-inspection on work areas and implement measures to ensure compliance to accounting practices, policies and guidelines, as well as implementing ways to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in accounting processes.• Identification and resolution of operational issues relating to accounting and support team’s improvement process and projects, as well as closure of accounting issues• Resolve any audit and accounting issues• Compliance with legal and statutory record retention based on management / statutory requirements, by ensuring proper filing system for all processed transactions and proper audit trail.• Any other tasks assigned by superior
Key results area
The role has the following mandates and responsibilities:• Accurate and error free posting of journals and transactions in the D365 accounting system.• Error free payments and settlements to vendors and employees• Timely closing, analysis and ageing for certain line items in the BS accounts ,i.e Accruals, Intercompany balances• For PL, revenue recognition, forex analysis and expenses.• Timely reporting of the assigned entities, consol package submitted via Controller to Group Accounts for consolidation within T+4WD.• Contributes to timely reports for compliance to statutory and regulatory requirements (i.e preparation of financial statements)• Preparation of Balance sheet and PL analysis, BOD deck during yearly reporting of entities under porttfolio• Ensuring audit, documentation and accounting issues are resolved on time.Job requirementAcademic qualifications/ professional qualificationsMinimum a degree in Accounting or Finance or having professional qualification, ie ACCA. Preferably second class upper or CGPA 3.0 and above. Professionally qualified accountant will be an advantage – (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, MIA)
Working experiencePreferably 4-5 years in accounting operations, with preparation of full set of financial statements.
