Summary

The Assistant Flight Operations Manager will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Lewis University fleet, during the night and weekend operations. This position is also responsible for maintaining the operational tempo of the departments fleet, will oversee the fleet scheduling, aircraft fueling, tracking fuel purchasing, payroll of the CFI's, record keeping of TSA currency, assist in student body registration, and overseeing the dispatchers. The assistant flight operations manager will coordinate with the Executive Director of Flight Operations, Chief Pilot, Assistant Pilots, Safety Coordinator, Training Coordinator and the Director of Aviation Services. Responsibilities: * Assist with the managing and scheduling aircraft dispatchers * Assist with the scheduling aspects of aircraft and flight training * Oversee fueling operations * Track fuel purchasing * Assist in submitting reports for CFI payroll * Record keeping for the TSA qualifications for dispatchers, CFI's and flight employees * Assist in the registration, assigning of CFI's to students for flight blocks * Determine optimal dispatching of resources * Coordinate with Director of Aircraft Services regarding fleet purchasing and fleet maintenance * Collaborate with Director of Flight Operations, Chief, Assistant Chief Pilots, Safety Coordinator and Training Coordinator * Directly report to the Flight Operations Manager and Executive Director of Flight Operations * Other duties as assigned by the Flight Operations Manager, and Executive Director of Flight Operations * Must be a positive influence, great communication skills, problem solver, attend meetings regularly Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in aviation field. Extensive industry operations experience. FAA licenses such as A&P, Dispatcher Certification and pilot ratings. Knowledge of Talon software preferred, but not mandatory. Fluent in Microsoft Office, Teams and Excel. Preferred Qualifications Masters Degree in Aviation Essential Duties Work hours Full time, nights & weekends
