The May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities in Randolph, MA is seeking an exceptional Assistant Executive Director to help lead day-to-day operations and ensure excellence across our school and residential programs.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide leadership in coordination with the Executive Director, Director of Education, and Residential Director to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across school and residential programs
  • Serve as a key point of contact in the absence of the Executive Director
  • Lead and manage a team of up to 6 direct reports, with additional oversight of cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate across departments to meet enrollment goals and deliver high-quality programming
  • Coordinate internal investigations and licensing compliance with state agencies (DESE, DCF, DEEC, DDS, DPPC) alongside HR and general counsel
  • Monitor satisfaction across parents, staff, districts, and students through formal feedback and engagement initiatives
  • Assist in strategic planning by identifying organizational barriers and designing new systems to drive efficiency and clarity
  • Oversee quality initiatives and support audit readiness across both education and residential services
  • Represent the school in IEP, high-risk, admissions, and transition meetings as needed
  • Support family communications, particularly for high-profile and complex cases
  • Facilitate the May Center Randolph (MCR) Staff Input Committee and promote ongoing team engagement

What You Bring

  • Master’s degree in education, special education, or related field (required)
  • Extensive supervisory experience in educational or human services settings
  • Deep understanding of autism, developmental disabilities, and school-based program management
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead with empathy, integrity, and a collaborative mindset
