The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director, Learning & Development will provide strategic and daily oversight of the UR Career Pathways (URCP) program and will partner with department leaders and key stakeholders to design and develop job pathways and programs that will provide clear career paths for employee development and advancement. The Assistant Director will also collaborate with internal stakeholders as well as community partners to assist in identifying workforce needs and developing talent pipelines for high-demand, hard-to-fill positions in a welcoming, inclusive work environment for all employees. This position is an integral part of the effort to become an employer of choice by attracting, retaining, and engaging talent as well as fostering a reputation for career opportunities and growth in the local community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Develops and aligns program's strategic plan and activities with broader organizational strategy; partners with department managers, HR leaders, and URCP Advisory Council and other key stakeholders to establish career pathway structures, policies, and processes that support our organizational values and commitment to equity and inclusion.
* Directs internal URCP career program and services, including online resources and communications to support staff career development, career navigation, skill development, and advancement. Provides oversight of daily operations related to the application and selection process, expenditures, participant tracking, and vendor payments.
* Collaborate with community workforce partners and educational institutions to establish programs, pipelines, and policies for external talent; represents UR at community workforce events as needed
* Collects and evaluates program outcome data for tracking, reporting, and process improvement purposes.
* Explore and execute grant funding opportunities to support workforce development and career exploration programs
* Provides oversight of URCP staff including hiring, performance management, and ongoing coaching and career/professional development
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor's Degree in HR, OD, HRD or related field. Master's preferred.
* 5 years experience with HR workforce/career development responsibilities and program management ; including 3 years supervisory experience
* Or equivalent combination of education and experience
