Advertised Job Summary
The Assistant Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) at USC develops, implements, and assesses initiatives to support undergraduate research. This role coordinates recruitment and promotion efforts, conducts workshops and training, provides student guidance, and assists in program administration. The Assistant Director also trains and supervises Undergraduate Research Ambassadors and collaborates with campus partners to promote and enhance undergraduate research at USC.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to interface with a variety of constituents and a diverse population, individually and in a group setting: campus partners, academic units, and undergraduate students. Must have strong skills in: computer use, presentations, organization, problem solving, and exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
This individual must be able to exercise excellent professional judgement and discretion; have the ability to provide information on various topics and exhibit professionalism in all situations with diverse populations. The ability to take direction, initiate action, and work as a team member are essential.
