We're Hiring: Assistant Director of Special Events

This sales-focused position is all about maximizing event bookings across Carmine's and Virgil's NYC venues, with a key focus on driving business to the Sinatra Room and other available spaces. You'll be part of a dynamic, high-energy sales environment and will report directly to the Director of Special Events

Your Role With Us

• Actively promote and sell the Sinatra Room as a premier event space for a variety of group sizes and occasions
• Book events and catering across all three NYC locations—always have a solution for your clients
• Close business—negotiate and finalize pricing for all types of events, from social gatherings to corporate functions
• Own the client experience—oversee events from contract to execution, coordinating every detail
• Drive outreach—leverage calls, visits, email campaigns, networking, and marketing initiatives to bring in new leads
• Collaborate internally—work with FOH managers and the Executive Chef to deliver seamless events
• Lead and support—mentor junior team members and assist during high-profile events
• Track and follow up—maintain meticulous notes, contracts, and communication for every client
• Be a face of the brand—attend industry events and client meetings to represent Carmine's and Virgil's
  
  

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in event sales, catering, or banquet management in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Energetic, goal-oriented professionals with a track record of exceeding sales targets
• Excellent communicators and negotiators who can close business and build lasting client relationships
• Organized, proactive planners who thrive on managing the details
• Deep knowledge of event logistics, menus, space layouts, and AV/event equipment
• Flexibility to work 10-hour shifts and alternate weekends when needed for events
