BASIC PURPOSE: To assist the Director of Security and the Security Team as a whole in order to provide a safe environment for the hotels guests, personnel, and property. Offer assistance to the Security Department while maintaining the high level of service standards of the Four Seasons.
Essential Functions
- The ability to manage and supervise the day-to-day security force of the property to ensure the safety and security of all guests, personnel, and property.
- The ability to review and conduct performance evaluations for Security staff. The ability to implement all policies and procedures regarding security and safety.
- The ability to design and implement preventive safety and security programs. The ability to prevent situations that could jeopardize the reputation of the hotel.
- The ability to investigate crimes committed against the hotel, guests, and employees.
- The ability to document all incidents occurring in the hotel in connection with crime, subversions, potential liabilities, and insurance requirements.
- The ability to assist hotel staff in handling of unusual guest or employee problems, such as, but not limited to, disorderly conduct, thefts, suicides, bomb threats, employee or guest accidents, fire or safety hazards, robberies, terrorist activities, civil disturbances power of elevator failures, medical assistance, and natural disasters.
- The ability to select, train, schedule, discipline, and direct security personnel in all aspects of security policies and procedures.
- The ability to keep abreast of developments within the hotel and community as they relate to security as well as act as a liaison with local law-enforcement agencies.
- The ability to remain informed of current Federal and local laws and regulations as they relate to the hotel, particularly in areas of guest, patron, and employee rights.
- The ability to take an active role in the implementation of the hotel’s fire plan including the General Communication Center, the Command Post, all technical equipment, and the roles each employee/manager plays.
- The ability take responsibility for all training related to the hotel’s emergency procedures.
- The ability to test the hotel’s Fire and Emergency Response preparedness.
- The ability to chair the Health and Safety Committee in the hotel.
- The ability to control the key, lock system, alarm system, and fire protection system.
- The ability to make recommendations to the Director in security related matters.
- The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
- The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
- The ability to execute all tasks of a security officer.
- Ability to supervise and manage contracted security services.
Non-essential Functions
Support the Security team in any assistance they may require.
Knowledge And Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree is required
Experience: NY State Security License required.
Previous Supervisory/management Experience Needed.
At least 2 years experience in a hotel.
Previous administration of persons in lifesaving or property protection situations.
Experience in CPR, first aid, fire fighting, and crowd control.
Skills and Abilities: Ability to read, write and speak English.
Fire Life Safety Director’s Certificate is
Required
required. (T-89 or F-89)
