Required Qualifications Education/Experience: * BA/BS degree * 7+ years of benefits analysis/administration experience * 2+ years supervisory experience Skills: * Organizational and Communication Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written. * Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact successfully across all levels within and outside the organization;customer service orientation. * Problem-Solving: Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, adapting knowledge and experience to various situations; ability to troubleshoot effectively. * Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work. * Analytical Skills: Quantitative analytical skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel. * Project Management: Proven experience managing multiple deadline-driven priorities; demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects. * Change Management: Ability to initiate and manage change effectively. * Self-Direction: Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision. * Confidentiality: Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. * Legal Knowledge: Working knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws, particularly employee benefit laws and regulations. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree and/or CEBS, SHRM, or HRCI certification Higher education experience a plus Hands-on experience with cloud-based human capital management/HRIS or benefit enrollment systems and reporting Job Summary The Assistant Director of Benefits directs the planning, implementation, coordination, operation and evaluation of the University's core benefits programs. Reporting to the Director of Benefits and supervising benefits support staff, the Assistant Director is responsible for the development and administration of the group health plans, flexible spending accounts, retiree benefits, and various ancillary benefits. In collaboration with external brokers, vendors, and consultant partners as well as the offices for Legal Affairs and Compliance and Ethics, and human resources colleagues, the Assistant Director of Benefits applies best practices and ensures all benefits programs, policies, and communications are compliant with federal,state and local laws and regulations.
