Act as a role model to the staff and all families serviced
Patrol rooms to assess counselors' and supervisors' performance and to ensure a positive room tone
Ensure that counselors and staff are adhering to the H.E.S. employment policies
Assignments must be completed in a timely manner
Director must be informed of all matters / occurrences / situations involving staff and students of the H.E.S. After School Program
Establishing a clear separation between supervisor and counselor
Ensuring that you and your counselors come to work dressed appropriately
Ensuring that students' supplies are stocked and made available
Parent Homework Completion Logs must be available for all groups
Xerographs must be made prior to the day they are needed
Computers must be functioning prior to students' arrival
Ensure attendance sheets are updated monthly (bus and room)
Transportation is facilitated daily to ensure a safe transition from each child's school to the H.E.S.
Prepare alternate activities for groups
Ensure that all groups transition to their activities prior to their start time
Rooms must be prepared prior to students' arrival
Greet parents upon their arrival and maintain a positive relationship with them
Parents must be informed of occurrences involving their child(ren)
Homework monitoring sheets must be filled out and filed daily
Parents must be contacted daily regarding write-up from the homework monitoring sheets
Maintain a professional rapport with parents
Facilitate family engaging activities once a month
Sign-out books must be maintained and each page dated
Attendance accurately collected and recorded in a timely manner
Supplies must be cared for
Actively participate in all aspects of professional development
Support the Director in the operational components of the After School Program
Collaborate with the Registration Department to confirm the children's documentation to start/continue programming
Maintain a professional rapport with the schools we service
Attendance must be taken, maintained, and recorded to support ACS required documentation
Attendance must be taken, maintained, and recorded to support DYCD SONYC requirements
The ASP office must be kept clean and organized
Walkie-talkies must be charged and maintained
Supervise children and staff during on-site activities
Supervise children and staff during off-site trips
Support the facilitation of activities by activity specialists
Communicate with parents
Communicate / work under the supervision of the Assistant Camp Director & Camp Director
Must be punctual
Perform other duties as assigned or directed by the Director
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree is preferred
Prior supervisor experience is required
Prior experience working with children is required
Prior experience working in After School Program is required
Must be a team player and enjoy working with youths
Must be dependable and able to meet the required schedule of the department
Must have strong leadership skills and be self-motivated
Must have excellent time management skills
Must be detail-oriented
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Google and Microsoft suites
CPR/RTE/ First Aid certifications are preferred
Salary:
$45,000 - $55,000
