Summary

Assistant Director of Athletic Business Operations Long Island University (LIU), an NCAA Division I institution, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Assistant Director of Athletic Business Operations. This position is a key member of the LIU Athletics Business Operations team and is responsible for managing the financial operations of designated sports and administrative units within the Athletics Department. The role will involve regular collaboration with the University's Business and Financial Services Department (e.g., Accounts Payable, Financial Accounting, Budgeting, Procurement), Human Resources, and travel partners to support and enhance the success of the athletics program. The position is based on the LIU Post campus but will require oversight of business operations for all sports programs across both the Post and Brooklyn campuses. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee the budgeting process for designated sports and administrative units. * Process and track expenses, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budget limits. * Manage invoices, payments, and purchase orders through the university's procurement system. * Handle reimbursement requests for staff and student-athletes. * Perform credit card reconciliations, ensuring proper allocations. * Coordinate and manage travel logistics for athletic teams. * Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures. * Perform additional administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Athletic Business Operations. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree or higher (foreign equivalent accepted). * Two to four years of full-time experience in collegiate or professional athletic business operations. * Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively. * Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships. * Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with individuals at all levels of the organization. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office 365, and Adobe Suite. * Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage tasks independently. * Must possess a valid driver's license.
