Summary

Chesapeake Integrated Behavioral Healthcare is a mission-driven behavioral health organization dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based mental health and substance misuse treatment. We serve diverse populations through outpatient services, community based programs and integrated care partnerships. The Assistant Director of Clinical Services will oversee the development, implementation and administration of our Mental Health and Substance Use Services. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring compliance with clinical standards, supervising staff, project development, managing budgets, and fostering an environment focused on client recovery and well being. Responsibilities Include: * Provide strategic and operational leadership of mental health and substance use treatment programs. * Supervise clinical programs (such as, but not limited to, Outpatient Services, Same Day Access, Psychiatric Services, and Crisis Continuum Programs (Emergency Services and the Crisis Receiving Center). * Complete and monitor grants associated with clinical services. * Conduct regular performance evaluations. * Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation regulations * Monitor program performance and client outcomes; implement continuous improvement strategies. * Manage program budgets, staffing, and resource allocation. * Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams and external partners. * Lead initiatives for community outreach, program expansion, and client engagement. * Develop and oversee training for staff in trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and other best practices. * Performs other related duties as assigned The City of Chesapeake offers an exceptional range of benefits. Required Qualifications VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires a master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, public administration, or a closely related field. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of four years of related, full-time equivalent experience. SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES: * Requires State of Virginia licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and/or Professional Counselor (LPC). * May require a valid driver's license and a driving record that is in compliance with the City's Driving Standards. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
