Description

As an Assistant Corporate Internship Program (CIP) team member, this position will interact with students, school personnel, and business leaders to execute the transformative CIP model alongside other CIP staff. The primary duties of this role include recruiting new and maintaining current sponsorships, assisting with job placement and training, and managing CIP's daily operations. This position will report to and be evaluated by the Director of CIP. 

  

Ministerial Character

Catholic schools in the Diocese of Austin are canonically obedient to the Bishop and assist him in fulfilling his ministry and canonical obligations. Pastors, presidents, and principals serve as leaders of the schools to make Christ's mission present and enduring in the schools. In order to fulfill Christ's mission, the school leaders employ suitable, chosen collaborators, sharing with them Christ's mission and entrusting to them various responsibilities.

Positions employed in this School help extend the ministry of the School leaders in particular ways as outlined in the job description. The employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the School leaders in the performance of their ministry and, therefore, engages in ministry for the Church.


Purpose: The Assistant CIP Director, Corporate Sponsorships & Relations, will provide and retain revenue-generating job placements for SJD students at organizations aligned with the school's values. 


Accomplishing this includes the following:

  • Securing paid internships at local corporations and businesses for all enrolled students
  • Overseeing the placement, training, supervision, transportation, and evaluation of our
  • student workers
  • Stewarding relationships with Corporate Partners
  • Supervising and supporting a team of staff and volunteers
  • The Assistant CIP Director will require strong skills, including communication, people management,
  • project management, financial acumen, presentation skills, and strategic thinking and execution.


Essential Duties


Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of CIP Partner relationships and student work teams employed at those Partners. Build strong relationships with and coach students toward excellent performance at their work placement. Build strong relationships with and coach Partner supervisors, anticipate the needs of, and effectively respond to supervisors managing student workers at Partners. Take the lead on all regular communication with supervisors and students within the portfolio, including conducting site visits/check-in calls twice yearly. Provide resources to share best practices and monitor the progress of Partner supervisors and students to ensure placement success. Manage all aspects of partnerships within the portfolio in a solution-oriented, supportive way, demonstrating excellent customer service to Partners and students; always looking for opportunities to deepen professional relationships. Closely monitor student performance evaluation feedback and implement interventions with students.


Operations: Ensure CIP staffing plans are created, implemented, and edited as needed throughout the year; participate in the staffing plan, which will include some early morning or evening shifts throughout the week and involve student-facing roles. Work closely with the staff focused on transportation to ensure a safe, effective, and appropriately staffed transportation program. Ensure compliance with the Department of Labor and state regulations, which includes student and Partner safety training, Partner site visits and check-in calls, student employment files (work permits, I9s, family agreements, etc), and Partner agreements. 


Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of CIP and President to execute a shared vision of student success; jointly explore and support connections between student learning in the classroom and the workplace. Lead interdepartmental collaboration efforts with admissions, counseling, academics, advancement, finance, operations, etc.

  • Customer service skills: ability to work with a range of corporate partners 
  • Desire to work with high school students and enthusiasm to further build a positive school culture and community 
  • Sensitivity to the ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds
  • Confidentiality regarding school, CIP partners, and student matters 
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft & G-Suite database software, spreadsheet software, word processing software, electronic mail software, and presentation software. Familiarity with Salesforce or another customer relationship management software.


Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, business, leadership, or a related field

Experience:

  • Experience working in an education or business setting, particularly with high school students in an urban or Catholic school setting

Certifications and Training:

  • Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first week of employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 60 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry, and maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment.
