Job Title: Assistant ControllerJob Description A mid-sized manufacturing company in South Seattle is seeking an Assistant Controller. This is a direct placement role responsible for managing up to three employees. The position is 100% onsite with working hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Responsibilities + Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. + Oversee general ledger activities and reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes. + Manage and process payroll, including reviewing timesheets, ensuring accuracy of earnings and deductions, and coordinating with HR and payroll providers. + Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist in improving accounting procedures. + Supervise and mentor accounting staff. + Collaborate on accounting issues and functions. + Perform special projects and financial analysis as requested by management. Essential Skills + Reconciliation + Month-end processes + Financial reporting + Preparation of financial statements + Journal entry + Audit + Bank reconciliation + Visual Manufacturing software + Power BI + Payroll management Additional Skills & Qualifications + 4+ years of progressive accounting experience; experience in public accounting or private industry is preferred. + Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and payroll practices. + Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. + Intermediate skills using MS Office and HRIS, with Paycom experience being a plus.
