The Assistant Controller manages our accounting department and performs functions including financial preparation, payroll and budgeting. This role reports directly to the organization's CFO and collaborates directly with various department heads. The Assistant Controller also assists with treasury and cash management, leads and manages an accounting staff, and works closely with management across the organization. We are a 47-year-old growing family-owned business. This job does not require working on weekends or nights as we strive for our employees’ work life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Full cycle general ledger accounting
• Oversee payroll processing for office employees
• Implement Identify cost-saving opportunities, ensuring efficient resource allocation
• Oversee and manage staff’s performance of A/R and A/P functions
• Prepare accurate pricing models for new business opportunities
• Perform detailed analysis, offer expert financial insights, design complex spreadsheets, and support executive decision-making
• Manage vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective procurement
• Supervise and mentor accounting and payroll staff, ensuring professional development and performance excellence
• Partner with HR to ensure seamless employee onboarding, benefits enrollment, and records management.

• Financial Management, Budgeting, and Financial Reporting skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with financial analysis and forecasting
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
