Summary

The Opportunity:

Are you a hands-on finance leader with a strong technical background and a passion for continuous improvement? We’re hiring an Assistant Controller to help lead financial operations for a large and growing North American business. This role offers the opportunity to lead a team, drive accurate and timely reporting, and support high-impact projects like an upcoming ERP implementation.


Role Overview:

Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for the financial reporting and month-end close processes for multiple North American entities. You’ll guide your team and collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments. This role is ideal for a CPA with strong technical skills, public company experience, and a background in complex, multi-entity environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Produce accurate financial reporting and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, SOX, and internal controls
  • Oversee intercompany transactions and full-cycle accounting activities
  • Provide technical accounting guidance for complex transactions
  • Support external audit preparation and liaise with auditors
  • Assist with documenting internal controls and process improvements
  • Play a key role in the implementation of a new ERP system
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team


What You Bring:

  • CPA designation (Big 4 public practice experience preferred)
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ post-designation
  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
  • Experience with enterprise-level organizations
  • Familiarity with publicly-listed company environments
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables)
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud and other ERP systems (implementations a plus)
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks
  • Ability to analyze balance sheets, P&L statements, and margin performance
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across finance and non-finance teams
