Summary

The candidate should be an entrepreneurial and open-minded individual with a desire to contribute to a fast-paced, growing company. The candidate will report directly to the Controller of the bank and be expected to lead, take ownership of his/her areas of responsibility and ensure accurate and timely completion of company reporting requirements.




Responsibilities

  • Lead the Bank’s year end audit and financial reporting process
  • Create Bank Balance Sheets, Income Statement, Cash Flow & Changes in Stockholders Equity along with required Footnote disclosures
  • Coordinate and respond to requests from external audit firm
  • Manage month-end close process.
  • Assist in the preparation of bank regulatory reports and FDIC filings, where needed.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including overseeing maintenance and new account setup.
  • Supervise the reconciliation control process and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Assist in the documentation, review, and testing of the Bank’s internal controls over financial reporting and FDICIA process.
  • Oversee the Bank’s investment accounting process
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, as needed.
  • Provide on-going supervision to staff.
  • Researches and develops procedural changes and work methods to improve departmental productivity.
  • Participate in CECL meetings and assist in monthly analysis and calculation of entries.
  • Other duties as assigned.




Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or a mix of public and private within the Banking industry, and a four-year college degree, preferably in accounting.
  • Other qualifications include detailed knowledge of technical accounting for Banks or Credit Unions, Detailed knowledge of bank operations and systems, Detailed knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and of internal control frameworks, strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, detail-oriented, problem-solving, planning, multi-tasking, verbal and written communication skills.
