We are looking for a driven and curious Assistant Construction Manager in Reston, Virginia and Washington, D.C. to support our Team. In this role, you may be asked to perform traditional Construction Administration functions for process conformance with approved construction documents including but not limited to the project contract, specifications, quality control plan, safety plans, schedule, request for information (RFIs), change orders, pay requests, record drawings, commissioning and contract closeout.

As the opportunities present, we’ll ask you to actively manage and report on the status of the project schedule and budget. Monitor and document contract progress and make recommendations to the client for contractor payments, change orders, and requests for information (RFIs). You’ll conduct site meetings, coordinate and oversee field activities for testing and inspection reviews as well as participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost control, schedule control, change management, risk management and performance. In addition, you may be asked to support the development of a client compliance program.

This may involve performing or assisting in the performance of construction specification research with the ultimate goal of helping to formulate a complete quality assurance policy for our client. Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • Previous professional working experience in inspection/construction management or resident engineering of transportation projects
  • Working knowledge of construction contract requirements.
  • Working knowledge of construction materials, means, and methods
  • Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and participating in diverse teams
  • Experience with MS Office, SharePoint, Prolog Manager (or similar EDMS)
  • Must possess the physical ability to move around an active construction site
  • On-site attendance as required by internal and external customers.


Ideally, Here’s What You’ll Also Have

  • Experience with ProjectWise, Prolog, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with engineering, architectural, and construction documents (i.e., maps, drawings, technical specifications, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills and understanding of technical terminology

95,300.00

Posted Salary Range Upper

120,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $95,300.00 to $120,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
