An Assistant Chief Engineer in facilities management plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of building systems. This position typically involves overseeing the work of Stationary Engineers, managing the maintenance of boilers, plumbing, air conditioning, and other equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations Essential Functions: Supervising maintenance staff and coordinating their activities. Inspecting and evaluating the physical condition of facilities. Developing operational procedures for building equipment. Troubleshooting and directing service calls to maintenance personnel. Managing budgets and capital projects. Training staff and ensuring their competency Other Requirements: The engineers will be able to perform any or all of the following skilled and technical duties but not necessarily limited to performing work under a work order or computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), operating or assisting in operating all heating and ventilation and air conditioning equipment, engines, turbines, motors, combustion engines, pumps, air compressors, ice and refrigerating machines, air conditioning units, filters, dryers, fans, siphons, also automatic and power-oiling pumps and engines, as well as other such normal or evolved building systems as installed within the building(s).
