Summary

OVERVIEW

To manage and support Travel Retail development of Diptyque in China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to maximize the performance of our points of sale, i.e. Airports and Downtown Stores. You will contribute to increasing the turnover, market share and ranking, and will guarantee brand image within our distribution. The position is based in Hong Kong but includes frequent trips within the area (60%).


DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To manage all POS ensure active contributions to its sales target and always guarantee an impeccable level of brand image and customer experience.


COMMERCIAL OBJECTIVE

  • Manage and achieve the area's sell-out target and increase the Company's market share, ensuring that objectives are reached through designing and implementing appropriate action plan with clients and retail team.
  • Personally contribute to achievement of sales (retailer sell out) budget in each location by being present in store, leading by example, and coaching teams to meet or exceed targets.
  • Keep a close monitoring of expenses (staff costs, POS material consumption, animations) to ensure optimal ROI and respect of budgets and allocations.


OPERATIONS

  • Ensure the sales and brand image are optimized, thanks to a strong command of supply chain processes and operational duties.
  • Follow up timely novelty placement, in line with the brand’s marketing calendar.
  • Maintain product assortment and stock level in each door, respecting each door’s space configuration and PAX specificity.
  • Follow up on the travel retail operators’ orders on counter arrival (saleable & non saleable), returns, destructions, as well as keeping a close control of their local stock management parameters (min/max, replenishment levels…).
  • Provide constructive feedback and coordinate with corporate office and retailer operation team when process improvement opportunities or are identified.


PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Manage and develop a team of Beauty Advisors, ensuring they reach objectives in line with the brand’s strategy, and deliver a high level of customer experience; make sure generic staff’s support is fully leveraged.
  • Hire, onboard, train, coach and motivate a team of Beauty Advisors assigned to our brand in partnership with our travel retail operators.
  • Set and follow up on sales targets and development plan per Beauty Advisor.
  • Train and incentivize the stores’ generic staff, to ensure continuity in customer service.
  • Organize incentive to push sales, reduce stock level, clear discontinued items and etc.
  • Prepare and animate briefings, share and explain store performance and sales target to the team.


BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

  • Provide regular sales and retail KPIs analysis and make recommendations, to develop the turnover and visibility of the brand; keep management informed about any noteworthy initiative from competitive environment and conduct necessary price surveys.
  • Prepare and share daily/weekly/monthly business analysis and reporting of retail performance, including Sell-Out, relevant retail KPIs as well as stock level and assortment.
  • Conduct monthly in-depth sales analysis by door, by airport, by operator, and by product category, and use the information to appropriately feed the action plans per door.
  • Maintain a high level of competitive intelligence by identifying new brands, latest launches animations and best practices from competition, and reporting them on a synthetic and solution-oriented manner.
  • Conduct price survey on a regular basis, for the brand and the competitive environment.


BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Help identifying opportunities for the brand’s development in the region (new doors, improved spaces and additional visibility, animations) and be instrumental in their implementation.
  • Thanks to a deep knowledge of the area, help identify opportunities for opening new doors; help secure space & location for the brand.
  • By leveraging close relationship with operators, identify and negotiate additional visibility or improved locations in existing doors, to maximize sales while maintaining the brand identify and equity.
  • Coordinate the construction and installation of new counters with our architecture department and our local manufacturers; ensure stock, POS material and visuals are received in a timely manner.


BRAND IMAGE AND TRADE MARKETING

  • Be the ambassador of the image of the brand and of service level in our points of sale (including digital), ensure local adaptation and implementation of the brand’s marketing and animation plan (including negotiation of opportunities with operators).
  • Ensure the brand’s presentation in every door is always impeccable, including stock level, maintenance of the spaces, timely novelty placement, update of POS material, visuals and lightboxes, and compliance with headquarter merchandising guidelines.
  • Guarantee excellent client service and experience, supervises sales to ensure client satisfaction and that the qualitative standards required by our brand and the operators are met.
  • Identify, organize, plan & execute all brand or retailer driven activations; follow-up and recap all events, highlighting success, opportunities for improvement and profitability.
  • Embody our brands values in terms of grooming, language, storytelling and behaviors, to ensure a unique client experience aligned with the brand’s expectations.
  • Work closely with Product Marketing, Digital, PR and Training team to define 360º strategy to maximizing sales. Ensure thorough execution of that plan, and seamless local coordination.
  • Share input on new developments and opportunities including local marketing activations, exclusive products, visual merchandising tools.


CLIENT RELATIONSHIP

  • Build, develop and maintain a strong partnership with central (buying and operations teams) and local travel retail operators’ stakeholders, to achieve positive commercial and brand image outcome for the brand.
  • Participate annual or bi-annual meetings with the travel retail operators to introduce the marketing plan, identify and prioritize the main sales opportunities of the season: retailers’ events, incentives, outreach opportunities, brand new product launches, local events etc.
  • Keep close relationship with operators’ local teams to optimize staff management, brand visibility, stock level, and retail excellence in general. Host business reviews on a regular basis in all doors to analyze business, maximize current performance, and further leverage business opportunities.
  • Regularly meet with supply chain and operations stakeholders, to ensure appropriate processes are in place (including implementation of improvement opportunities), and ultimately guarantee a high level of operational excellence.


PROFILE

  • Degree holder in Business or related discipline, you must have solid experience in Travel Retail (minimum 5 years), ideally within the Perfumes and Cosmetics category.
  • Autonomous and organized, you can work independently yet demonstrate a strong team spirit. You can manage multiple projects and show versatility and adaptation in a constantly changing environment.
  • You are field-oriented, hands-on, with an entrepreneurial spirit and a taste for challenge.
  • You have the required leadership and managerial abilities to motivate sales teams, and your interpersonal and negotiation skills allow you to achieve positive outcome with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You are organized and rigorous, with attention to detail and analytical skills. You are comfortable with numbers and show strong command of Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • You speak fluent English and Mandarin (mandatory), French is a plus.
