The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager by overseeing the efficient operation of the branch to ensure all operational functions are completely and properly performed by the staff while conveying a feeling of trust, service, security and satisfaction to customer and staff. In partnership with the Branch Manager, this position is responsible for supervision of staff, focusing on safety, as well as customer service, receiving, inventory control, merchandising, sales, counter sales assistance, product delivery, and the general operation of the branch.

Customer Interaction
Provides excellent customer service through timely customer interaction, problem resolution or escalation with effective and efficient follow-up.

Assists the Branch Manager by either opening or closing each day as directed. Changes work schedule based on demands of the business as needed and directed
Steps in during the absence of the Branch Manager to lead teams, assist customers, direct the flow of work, and respond to all operational needs of the business
Provides for emergency openings as required (respond as 2nd on call list for Alarm or Fire when Branch Manager is unreachable)
Provides for after-hours openings
Supervises staff with direction, guidance, support, and follow-up
Performs accurate order entry
Provides timely and efficient order pulling, will calls, and deliveries
Ensures a quick turnaround for will call customers
Promptly answers phones, returns phone calls to customers, and routes messages, notes or other communication as needed
Adheres to safety procedures by example, addresses safety matters as needed with staff.
Supports all areas of the operation for the branch which includes receiving, deliveries, merchandising, training, will calls, facilities management, safety, customer interactions, and all other operational areas
Merchandising
Maintains clutter-free workstations, counter area displays, and branch signage.
Provides and promotes products displays and signage.
Maintains showroom with proper products to reflect promotions & seasonality in a neat and consistent manner.
Maintains literature display, keeping them filled and current as well as neat and clean.
Maintains catalog library with updated product information and literature in a neat and clean manner.
Counter & Showroom
Maintains visual display of showroom and counter areas.
Ensures proper procedures are being followed in all aspects of Order Entry and counter sales.
Provides excellent customer service most especially with regard to customer dissatisfaction as needed.
Other
Safety Sensitive Position: the ability to perform job functions in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Maintains proficiency with company computer systems in aspects related to job, such as data entry, messaging, call logs, data notations, queue updates, batching, or other job & office functions and requirements

Preferred Job Requirements
High School diploma or its GED equivalent and some college coursework in a related field
5+ years’ experience with logistics or distribution and related functions.
