Your opportunity


In this role you will lead the effective and efficient maintenance of Port Authority’s assets with a focus on maximizing availability, reliability, safety and value of all facilities. In doing so, you will ensure compliance with all statutory obligations and Port Authority’s operational and performance objectives


This role will focus on Port Authority’s land assets across the state and requires demonstrated experience working in facilities management.


Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and drive an efficient, fit-for-purpose maintenance strategy for Port Authority’s assets, in alignment with the Strategic Asset Management Plan including developing policies and procedures for best practice, compliant and safe asset maintenance activities, and initiatives.
  • Manage and review Port Authority’s Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Procuring, and managing appropriate outsourced maintenance supplier contracts and agreements,
  • Prepare and manage the annual asset operating maintenance expenditure budget to ensure effective delivery of asset management practices
  • Seek continuous business improvement in Asset Management processes.
  • Lead and manage direct reports through mentoring and coaching.
  • Provide a high level of operational technical advice and strategic support to the senior management team


Key Knowledge and Experience

  • Trade or tertiary qualified with extensive experience working in an asset intensive environment
  • Demonstrated strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • A working understanding of asset and maintenance management within an industrial setting
  • Commercially astute in contract management. Experience in managing and supervising contractors and consultants across a range of disciplines.
  • A working understanding of WHS /OHS statutory requirements
  • Knowledge of relevant engineering and infrastructure standards, legislation, and guidelines.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical information including specialist reports and engineering drawings.


Essential Requirements

  • This position requires you to be available for emergency support outside regular working hours
  • Ability to travel between precincts within the portfolio
