Our client, a global leader in the storage and transportation of bulk liquids including chemicals, fuels and refined products seeks an Asset and Infrastructure Engineering Manager for its Gulf Coast operations. The role will be located at the Houston headquarters and focus on furthering the company’s business interests by identifying and evaluating locations and assets for acquisition.
The candidate should have an entrepreneurial mindset and an interest in creating from a blank slate. He/she should be comfortable with some degree of ambiguity and have a desire to play a pivotal role in construction of a successful business. After numerous successes overseas, my client is establishing a US presence and have been designated as a “Top Employer” worldwide based on their culture, employee development and various other factors.
Asset And Infrastructure Engineering Manager Responsibilities
Identify attractive assets and locations along the US Gulf Coast
Assessing assets attractiveness from a technical and integrity perspective
Support M&A transactions and lead their technical due diligence
Provide cost estimates for acquisition, repair, engineering and construction efforts
Provide conceptual engineering designs aligned with needs
Supervise engineering and FEED efforts
Create design, engineering and construction schedules/calendars & staffing models
Deliver “on time/on budget” construction projects, including detail engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, scheduling, budget monitoring, and risk assessment
Oversee & ensure performance of engineering and construction contractors
Adhere to and comply with project execution as well as regulatory and HSSE standards
Identify and select engineering and construction firms in line within company’s Procurement policies.
Preparing/scoping technical RFQ and evaluating technical proposals from contractors.
Supporting new technologies evaluation in cooperation with Global Center of Excellence (COE)
Asset and Infrastructure Engineering Manager Requirements
Engineering degree, Project Management Professional (PMP) desirable
Minimum 15 years total experience with at least 10 years in Engineering and Infrastructure Projects Execution
Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals and Energy related businesses (chemical/fuels/refined products); familiarity with hydrogen and low-carbon alternative fuels is a plus
Knowledge of logistics assets in the Gulf Coast area such as storage tanks, pipelines, marine terminals and others is critical
Results oriented, proactive team player with strong analytical abilities and business acumen
Clear and effective communication (bilingual a plus)
Good planning and prioritization skills and able to work under deadlines
Entrepreneurial spirit
