Ability to do highly detailed, repetitive manufacturing and assembly following strict methods and procedures to produce high quality combustible gas sensors.
Education/Experience
A high school or equivalent education/experience. Possesses functional literacy (must be able to read and comprehend written instructions and perform simple calculations with numbers). Experience working with very fine wire or coil-making is desired.
Principal Accountabilities
Shaping of very fine wire into coils of exact size & resistance using hand operated equipment.
Coating of coils with ceramic binder to exact measurements.
Etching of coils in acid bath.
Welding of coils onto header using small resistance welding stations.
Conducting electrical and resistance tests and collecting & recording data.
Mixing of compounds for coating and etching.
Assembling coil/header assemblies and other small components into finished sensors.
Working Conditions
Constant need to pay close attention to detail and to strictly follow established methods and procedures. Working with very small materials under a microscope requiring excellent hand-eye coordination and great patience. There is noticeable pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands. Must be able to perform cooperatively in Team environment and participate in focus groups and cross-functional teams.
