Position Summary

The Asphalt Paving Superintendent will manage the daily operations of asphalt paving projects, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time completion. This position requires supervising crews, coordinating schedules and resources, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of asphalt paving projects from start to finish.
  • Lead and supervise paving crews, subcontractors, and laborers.
  • Coordinate schedules, materials, equipment, and personnel to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor workmanship to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and resolve any issues that arise during operations.
  • Enforce and promote safety protocols on the job site.
  • Collaborate with project managers, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including daily logs, material tracking, and labor hours.
  • Manage project costs and ensure adherence to budget.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in asphalt paving.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role overseeing paving crews.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of asphalt paving techniques, equipment, and materials.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary, ranging from $85,000 to $115,000, depending on experience.
  • Potential for bonuses or profit sharing.
