We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Asphalt Operator/Raker to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in asphalt paving processes, including operating machinery and hand tools, to ensure the smooth application of asphalt for various paving projects. You will play a key role in maintaining quality standards, safety regulations, and efficiency on the job site.
Requirements
Previous experience working with asphalt or related construction materials
2-4 years of asphalt experience.
Experience operating a backhoe, skip loader, roller, and skid-steer.
Ability to operate commercial vehicles, including dump trucks, in a safe manner.
Strong physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Assist with the preparation of surfaces by removing debris and cleaning the area.
Rake and spread asphalt materials to ensure even distribution and proper compaction.
Key Responsibilities
Operate asphalt paving machinery such as pavers, roller compactors, and other associated equipment with precision and care.
Assist in the preparation and application of asphalt materials, ensuring proper mixing and temperature.
Rake and finish asphalt surfaces to create a smooth and even finish, making adjustments as necessary to meet specifications.
Perform daily maintenance checks and routine servicing of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with team members to follow project plans, blueprints, and specifications efficiently and accurately.
Monitor and analyze job site conditions, making recommendations for improvements or adjustments as required.
Comply with all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge of asphalt applications and equipment operation.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an asphalt operator or a similar role in the construction industry.
Knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, materials, and equipment operations.
Familiarity with safety practices in construction and the ability to adhere to OSHA regulations.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate well with team members and supervisors.
Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks over extended periods, including lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
