Job Description

Purpose

The Asia Financial Lines claims book has evolved significantly over the past five years, particularly with the growth of Medical Malpractice (Med Mal) and Professional Indemnity (PI) claims. The purpose of this role is to enhance efficiency in claims handling, improving speed, service, loss control, and cost management.

The Asia Medical Malpractice & Professional Indemnity Claims Manager will provide dedicated technical support for PI and Med Mal claims in Asia whilst also assisting the Asia Financial Lines Manager to address the evolving needs of the Financial Lines Claims teams.

Additionally, the position will assist the Asia Financial Lines Claims Manager with the supervision and oversight of other Financial Lines claims in Asia as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work with local and regional stakeholders to enhance performance and customer satisfaction by driving efficiencies in the handling and resolution of Med Mal and PI claims to increase productivity and speed of resolution whilst ensuring that quality claim service is rendered to all stakeholders in accordance with Chubb claims philosophy.
  • Effectively manage and supervise Med Mal and PI claims underwritten and reported in APAC against policy terms and conditions, company guidelines, local operating procedures and claims management guidelines.
  • Ensure that Large Losses are appropriately resourced and managed and all matters that require escalation within APAC and COG claims are identified, escalated and reported as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Country claims managers to Identify and implement modifications and improvements including implementation of Digital claims solutions and process enhancements.
  • Attend to claim enquiries and feedback, maintain positive relationship with all customers, brokers and service providers.
  • Work with internal colleagues to manage accounts, contribute to discussions with business units for products developments and loss control.
  • Ensure that appropriate claims management and underwriters are made aware on a timely basis of specific claims issues or trends which may impact underwriting decisions.
  • Manage and supervise claims to finality within designated authority and Chubb claims management guidelines.
  • Ensure that loss reserves and signal reserves are set and maintained in accordance with Chubb guidelines, timely updates of claims data made into systems and correctness of systems and file records.
  • Document and collate financial Lines claims processes and controls around the region.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in handling/supervising PI and Med Mal, preferably with experience across Asia.
  • Customer focused, with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to determine and implement strategies to improve claims outcomes on a portfolio/volume basis.
  • Demonstrated interest in current/emerging technological developments and trends including artificial intelligence and its applications.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong relationship and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strong communicator with effective collaboration skills.
