Job Position; AS400 Engineer

Experience- 5+ Years

Location- Hyderabad

Skills- AS400, RPG ILE, CL ILE, SQL, Java

Role and Responsibilities

• Application support for key systems running on AS400 platform using established framework or instrumentation
• Continuous monitoring of scheduled jobs, along with restart/reprocessing knowledge with the ability to formulate business impact
• Owning Incident lifecycle and adhere to agreed Service Levels
• Escalate the incidents in a timely fashion to get additional help to minizine the impact of an incident to business or customers
• Correlate and summarize system events, customer or business reported issues with a coherent and succent message, spanning problem definition, duration, impact, mitigation steps taken, RCA (if available) and next steps
• Document or summarize issues in a timely fashion
• Perform set of repeatable tasks towards mitigation of an incident until a permanent fix is implemented in production
• Work on enhancement to the applications that are currently running on AS400 using agile methodologies
• Support weekly outages and quarterly role swap’s

Required Skills

• 5+ years demonstrated application development management experience in an ERP environment iSeries (AS400)
• Demonstrated experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products
• Strong technical knowledge of IBM (AS400), RPG, CLP, SQL and DB2/400
• Working technical knowledge of current software protocols and Internet standards, including IBM iSeries systems and interfaces
• Extensive experience with core software applications, including iSeries security and Operating Systems up to and including IBM i v7.4
• Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills and experience in large IBM i on Power Systems (iSeries, AS/400) environments is key
• Strong knowledge and experience with the data replication tools (e.g. Vision Solutions MIMIX, OMS/ODS, etc.)
• Familiarity with 3rd Party vendor utilities
• Results-oriented professional who is a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products
• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
• Critical thinking, strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability
• Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
• Open for rotational shifts.
