Description of Work Are you a creative, innovative, result driven data analyzer that wants to lead the Data Visualization Team for DEQ? DEQ has an open opportunity for a Data Visualization Developer. It is full-time (40 hours per week) with State Benefits for a limited time. Although the length of time this position will be active cannot be determined, it has the potential to extend up to 3 years (36 months). If you have questions concerning the time-limited status of this position, you may inquire at the interview. * This position will perform highly specialized work in data management and statistical systems for the Program Management Office as it relates to the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. The position will assist in the collection of and analyzation of data to provide information regarding the program activities underway including funding data and must be able to develop and analyze complex reports. This position is the lead for the Data Visualization Team and is responsible for developing, administering, and auditing analysis information as well as providing consultation and guidance to leadership and the team. This time-limited position within the Program Management Office provides data analytical support for the administration of State Fiscal Recovery Funds provided by the American Rescue Plan Act. Key Responsibilities: Leads the Data Visualization Team in developing, analyzing and forecasting data trends. Identity and implement process improvement initiatives based off analyzed data and current practices. Provides internal and external stakeholders with data-driven program analysis, financial trends analysis, and outcome-based program reporting and reviews. Manage multiple projects and timelines based on business need. Office of Continuous Improvement: The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) Office of Continuous Improvement is responsible for the planning and implementation of programs, grant administration and sub recipient monitoring designated in the state statute/budget that are primarily focused on executing the programs associated with the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, resiliency programming, and other large scale funding programs. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following: Demonstrated knowledge of data analysis such as descriptive statistics and/or correlation and/or validating and/or analyzing data and/or proposing solutions. Demonstrated experience in generating visual graphics, trends, and/or dashboards. Demonstrated experience in maintaining, fostering, and/or developing working with internal or external associates, organizations, or leadership/management teams. Documented experience leading a team of data developers, data analysts, and/or project team. Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five (5) years of progressively experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
